Official site for Cheat Engine. Cheat Engine hacks games, so if your antivirus ever catches anything while you use it, just ignore it and turn it off until you are done using it. It's very hard to use with flash games, so don't feel discouraged if it didn't work on a flash game you wanted to hack. Use it for programs instead.
Best hack tool ever? Best hack tool ever!
Mostly clean and useful site. Cheat Engine installer may offer unwanted programs (garbage-free installer is also available). Be careful if you download anything posted on the forums.
This cheat engine is fun, you can change or make a cheat when you playing games. And this is just a thing only for professionals. When you using this thing, you must be careful. Because when you get wrong when changing the binaries, your game will show an error.
My Question (and all of you too..)
WHY THIS USEFUL TOOL MARKED AS VIRUS BY hpHosts OR SEVERAL ANTIVIRUSES?
They detects Cheat Engine as virus because they seen something unusual with this tool. It is CHANGING DATA BINARIES ON RAM! But this is the only way to use the cheats. Many gamers are using this tools, and they are very happy.
Antiviruses seem this unusual because changing data in memory usually is one of the behaviors of viruses.
But, the Cheat Engine changing data because a command of human, not like a virus, virus likes to change data without permission.
So, when you really sure about this thing, ignore antivirus alerts that inform this tool is a virus.
A cheater is also not a real gamer, and real gamers need skills, not cheats.
Now, you just think about this tools, useful or not.
The site itself is safe, however the downloaded file contains malicious files labeled as malware, This could be a false positive, so be cautious.
Scanned the EXE file with Malwarebytes. Safe.
Something tells me that all these recent bad comments are a coordinated attack against CE. Either, they are a bunch of kids that got VAC-banned from an online game server for abusing CE or that it's somehow got to do with "Malwaredomain.com"..I'm actually MORE suspicious of "Malwaredomain.com" than CE itself. I've been a regular user of CE, never had any problems with it, and all the problems that I ever had, I had done it to myself. CE is a memory editing tool, thus, it's not unlikely that any regular antivirus would deem it as a threat because it has the "capability" to edit the memory, but everything from CE is done voluntarily from the user, nothing is automated without prior knowledge and consent. This is the official CE site.
Seriously?! You guys are flipping out because your scanner thought it picked up a virus...wow.
Cheat engine is totally safe and awesome. If you download the file with the setup, it includes opencandy, which though not really a virus...is crap you don't want on your computer. The author TELLS YOU that it is there...he is not trying to deceive you. He also provides an alternate download (which I got) if you don't want it.
Stop freaking out noobs.
Cheat engine itself is a good program... if you download the RAR version instead of the installer. The installer for cheat engine is notorious for having a thing called 'open candy' which gives you software recommendations based off what you use, BUT it's a terrible, horrible, no good program and you can't chose to not install it... if you got the installer. They do note that anti-viruses do tend to pick up some red flags ... if you used the installer.
So if you're looking to get cheat engine, use the RAR download, not the installer!
Also one note: be careful with what the community gives you, the community for cheat engine isn't always 100% trustworthy!
