This is more than just a software site. There are descriptions of Chessbase's great lineup of chess software, and also numerous software patches (few demos, though). There are Steve Lopez's useful tech support "T-notes". But the homepage is regularly updated with coverage of major chess events and news from around the world.

A good chess website, Chessbase are the developers of Fritz chess playing software, Better then chessmaster IMHO but fritz is meant for GM's. A very good site.
