A wiki-based encyclopedia site filled with fundamentalist Conservative Christian propaganda, misogyny, ridiculous claims of Wikipedia, inappropriate claims of liberals and lots and lots of hate speech, especially of liberals and abortion. A biased source with so ridiculous stuff I actually mistaked it for a parody site called "Niilopedia" (http://fi.niilopedia.org ).
Conservapedia should NOT be trusted and I don't recommend visiting it unless you want to laugh at its incredible stupidity.
I used to edit there for fun and got banned simply because I wrote a factual article about RationalWiki.
The site doesn't contain any not-safe-for-work imagery, but it's not suitable for children. Read some of their articles and you'll understand why.
Conservapedia is filled with almost or everything religious extremism has to offer: sexism, homophobia, anti-science, anti-intellectualism, lies, everything. Has no value whatsoever except to show how dangerous their ideals can be.
This website is a wiki-based online encyclopedia. It is written from a conservative Christian point of view, making it somewhat biased and unreliable as a research tool.
The encyclopedia claims to be a trustworthy source of information, when some of its pages--especially those with topics pertaining to politics--are plagued with bias and inaccuracies. Also, the website includes biased, controversial, or offensive content, such as content which states that "women are weaker than men".
However, most of the pages on the encyclopedia are child friendly.
DOESN'T REPRESENT TRUE CONSERVATISM
I'm as conservative as they come but this site contains an awful lot of misinformation and flat-out absurdity. Very extreme opinions. Definitely doesn't represent most Conservatives, maybe a small fraction of the most extreme. Even RationalWiki, which has a very strong and obvious liberal bias, is more reliable than this. But my advice just stick to Wikipedia.
Extremely biased and misleading. Articles are either uncited or come from unscientific sources such as right-wing opinion articles and creation science websites, rather than anything even remotely peer reviewed. Most facts are cited from articles on the website "creation.com" Here are some of the absurd claims:
"Homosexuality was accepted in Nazi Germany"
"Evolutionary belief is linked to bestiality"
"Liberals typically support child pornography"
On science, it pushes a feeling of oppression rather than peer-reviewed facts; that Evolutionary Biology is only taught because science has been controlled by atheists who want to brainwash children out of their religion. It is utterly absurd.
It also doesn't even try to hide its bias. In articles, the "liberal community" is often used and is preceded by terms like "licentious" and "immoral." The article on liberals itself is filled with specific presumptions about belief on modern laws, rather than the actual definition. It's hard to tell if this website is a joke or just plain crazy.
There is absolutely no way the bad ratings for the website are simply because of "liberal bias" or "liberals oppressing free speech." Both conservatives and liberals should be opposing this because it is one of the most deceptive websites on the internet.
Ridiculous Christian propaganda. Everything it says about science (and reality in general) is wrong. A deliberately misleading and fundamentally biased site. Completely untrustworthy.
The only explanation I have for this website is that it's an extremist parody of conservatives beliefs. There is no logical or rational reason for anybody to visit this site besides a chuckle. No conservative I know would visit this website with a serious mindset.
Hilarious website. Recommended, but not for research. It's more biased than "Rational"Wiki (http://rationalwiki.org/). It's a good website for learning to troll, it's a good source if you're batshit crazy, if you don't want to be laughed at then don't use this as a reputable source.
This is a wiki site which contains articles written from the standpoint of the American religious right. It includes uncritical references to pseudoscience (e.g. creationism, denial of general relativity, reparative therapy, and some others), political propaganda and bigotry against homosexuals and liberals. Not recommended for anything other than a few laughs.
While it does not contain sexually explicit images, the overtly political viewpoint presented on the site may not be suitable for all children.
My first impression was one of bemusement. Was this Poe's Law gone mad? To my dismay, as I read further, I began to realize that these people were absolutely serious. Misinformation is one thing, but the temerity to lie so shamelessly is not only appalling, it's criminal.
