    I can't understand who flagged this site as Spam. I get the fact that the software they provided was bloated at one point of time, but, now they are okay and provide you with an excellent IM tool.

    Microsoft spyware now for Linux. Run in a sandboxed environment, or as a different user for safety.

    Idiotic Microsoft button clickers are likely to ignore this.

    The install will offer many extra programs, but they can all be declined.

    Also, and this is the shadiest part, by default an option is enabled to "allow digsby to perform research". They sell users CPU cycles for income.

    It can easily be tuned off via the menus.

    I read the privacy policy, and it seems okay.

    I think the negative ratings are due to the fact that Digsby has an option where it uses your computer to conduct research. This can be disabled, and it asks you in the installer. NOT spyware.

    I don't like programs that lie. I unchecked 'Allow use of my CPU', afterwards in preferences it was still active. And there were other settings I didn't check on install, but were still present.

    Our company has been using this software for an internal IM service for a couple of years without issue. It is a good service with which we have never had any negative consequences for its use.

    The site and associated app are poorly maintained. The last entry in their blog, for example, was posted back in 2009! ...whilst some limited functionality remains in the Digsby app, it seems for all intents and purposes that the project is now dead.
