Wikipedia is a collaboratively edited, multilingual, free Internet encyclopedia that is supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Anyone who can access the site can edit almost any of its articles.
As with any publicly edited and created content website you must use caution and verify anything you see as suspicious or untrue.
Wikipedia is a wonderful information repository but care with regards to which articles are accessed by children is required as they may feature media that may be considered inappropriate to young ones. For example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masturbation or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannibalism compile a lot of information on the subjects but most would find their contents inappropriate for children.
Always check sources! Not everything is true
From my review of Wikipedia.org:
One of the best websites for information on just about everything, Wikipedia is the user-based Internet encyclopedia that almost anyone can edit. Despite this rather well-known aspect of the site, the Wikipedia staff and users uphold rigorous standards for the content hosted on the site, ensuring the information is valid, sourced, and backed by citations to verify its legitimacy. Contrary to popular belief, multiple studies have confirmed that Wikipedia is actually just as accurate, and in some degrees more accurate, than the most prestigious encyclopedias, including Merriam-Websters and Oxford Encyclopedias.
Overall, Wikipedia is an extremely informative site which thoroughly documents most everything in the world and hosts more information than any other encyclopedia, book and Internet-based alike. The content hosted here is updated daily and new articles are being added all the time. When news breaks about something that just happened, or a controversial story surfaces, the related articles are locked and heavily monitored in order to ensure no vandalism or misinformation is posted. IN addition, these articles are updated as new information comes to light, making Wikipedia one of the most accurate repertoires of knowledge in the world.
Best of all, if you find something that isn't quite right, doesn't make sense, or isn't clear enough for your liking, you can edit the article to improve its quality. Be prepared to back up your claims, though, because only sourced, cited, and verified information is allowed!
One of the best websites for valuable information, no ads or popups but information can be false
Everyone can edit this site so fact check everything just in case.
Wikipedia is a very good online encyclopedia that contains information on basically on any subject you looking for, it can be used by persons of any age.
Great site filled with lot's of information and articles
This website should not be trusted too much as it may not have reliable information
Not always a factual source. Information can be strongly biased or inaccurate.
