To those downvoting my comment the controversial methods they used to enforce copyright are only a snall portion of my rating. The majority of the rating is for Child Safety and for their promotions of music services that contain malware and/or potentially unwanted software. Added tag Adult Content and Hate, discrimination ***** RIAA should probably not be rated child-friendly; their companies endorse and promote some extremely offensive, would be considered pornographic if it was pictures or video, audio products. Many of these recordings contain vulgar language, graphic descriptions of sexual assault, drug dealing, racial violence, and other nasty stuff in a manner that glorifies the behavior rather than condemning or parodying the behaviors. Many of these recordings are from individuals who have been involved in serious felonies, something that in other entertainment industries is only used for documentary or parody purposes. ---------------------------------------------- This part is outdated but gives evidence of RIAA's dealing in PUPs. hxxp://www.riaa.com/toolsforparents.php?content_selector=legal_music_sites (don't click the link) lists "iMesh" as a legal download site. iMesh is a scammer that has stolen the names of legitimate file-sharing developers, infringing on their trademarks and copyrights. (talk about irony) Note that ***** is listed under the EMD classification by hpHosts, meaning it is a malware site. ---------------------------------------------- Privacy policy violates section 7 of Google Analytics TOS.

Safe website with controversial ideologies about piracy. Regardless the site itself is safe of attacks.

This is a good site, regardless of all the bad and probably opinionated reviews of the site. Although it has strong opinions in regards to songs, the site's content is OK.

These downvotes are due to politics that are subjective. There's no reason to be wary visiting here.

You know the RIAA. They spill BS and they'll be doing anything to get your info to check if you are on their side or not. AVOID! ANd do not believe them.

The statistics on RIAA's site are skewed in their own favor. I've analyzed similar statistics on other music-related sites and found that the RIAA are very inaccurate with their stats.

The Recording Industry Association of America. The USA's top oligopoly and cartel of the music industry. Includes Sony Music, Warner Music, and Universal Music. It is a type of trade cartel with the corporate "too-big-to-fail" attitude and markets derivative junk music. They completely dictate the direction of music in the United States and have corporate lobbyists with the US Congress. The RIAA hates competition and will do anything to suppress it. Allies of the RIAA include iHeartMedia Inc. and Billboard. The website is simple to navigate, but the RIAA has been known to track users outside the website just after visiting their website once.

RIAA has a controversy of putting musics' price higher and adding DRM into it. Albums with CD will recuce computer's battery life and there is no way to move them out of the CD. In iTunes, every song is sold for $1. An RIAA Album containing 11 songs is sold for $13!

The RIAA is a bunch of thieves.

While I don't really agree with them either, we shouldn't down vote them for political reasons. WOT ratings should tell us if there is a virus, browser exploit, etc. I have no reason to believe there is anything malicious here.

This organization has sued innocent people, has engaged in racketeering and profiteering, has denied musicians due royalties and more. While the site is overall a safe site in coding, you should take any statements made with a grain of salt especially with regard to piracy statistics and impact as well as so-called reports of jobs generated by Hollywood.
