The site rating regarding news coverage ONLY would be excellent, BUT it is a well known fact, that is was hacked and hijacked several times (one of the sources of this claim is the site: http://www.digitalattackmap.com) and the comments section is sometimes (if not most of the time) full of hatred, racism and discrimination (just visit the site, pick an controversial article and look at the comments section)!
Above ALL ELSE, if you choose to register to be able to make comments on articles, Your account can become easily hacked (posts on behalf of other people with YOUR nickname used) and in my case also my e-mail was hacked and broken into. And those were not only my experiences - several other forum participants have expressed similar concerns.
I made screen-shots as PROOF what happened and sent an e-mail to their customer service, where I described what happened. I had the feeling that I was not taken too seriously and I also (at the same time) received 2 (two) e-mails from them on MY GOOGLE e-mail at ONCE, the other being addressed to a person with a Russian name, which I do not know. I made further inquires, how is that possible, but I haven't received any-more replies from them!
UPDATE - 27.04.2014:
It seems (at least for now), that the issues the site had especially regarding the forum have been addressed by the web-masters. Progress can be seen by the decline of spam, hatred and discrimination posts.
BUT, how the site is really 'safe' now for a user I can not comment, because of the events I experienced I stay away from commenting.
And when I was commenting above the hijacking of the site, I was not really too specific. So I'll try to explain now in this expanded post some of things, that happened more in detail:
"Hackers, that were OBVIOUSLY ANTI-RUSSIAN have replaced the words “Russia” and “Russians” with “Nazi” or “Nazis”.
Source: " http://securityaffairs.co/wordpress/22716/cyber-crime/russia-today-hacke... "
Beside that, there were several DDoS attacks carried out, but here things were not so "black and white".

Whatever was going on in the middle of March 2014 (obviously linked with events in Ukraine and Crimea) seems that is 'calming down' (although I fear, that this is only a 'calm before a storm')!
Considering all this, I'm slightly changing my rating of this site, which by itself is EXCELLENT regarding the news coverage, which (in my opinion and I live in the EU far away from Russia) aren't biased or anti-Russian (although some of my security and privacy risks about the site remain unchanged).
In the case, if someone does not agree with my opinion, it is at least fair to say, that they offer a very good ALTERNATIVE viewpoint from Russian perspective and this is rare in those times, when most of the western media giants work almost in 'concert' and 'serve' to us only a SIMPLIFIED 'tunnelled black and white vision' of events that are most of the time not only anti-Russian or 'Russia-phobic' (as they were 'stuck' in the cold war era mentality and do not realise, that with such attitude, not only the cold war will and has become reality again, but it also gets hotter every day) orientated but also much more COMPLEX, that they would like us to believe.
Хороший сайт с альтернативным мнением.

Russian propaganda giant made for international audiences. With recent events in Ukraine, RT keeps proving that it's just as bad as so many well known western news sites like CNN, the only difference being that it shows Russian side instead of American side. But what pisses me off about RT is the fact that there are too many "useful idiots" who want to believe (and will believe) in anything Russia Today says.
Very secure website that is safe to browse.
They seem to report stories that other news organisations do not.
This is a Russian website, and it does put a pro-Russia spin on the news it reports, however all major media outlets in the United States and Europe do that as well.
Safe to browse, even for kids. I trust this website.
There is no viruses etc but the site is not objective in presenting information.
Russia Today is anything but a serious, trustworty or honest news programme, and they report with a shameless bias, regularly slandering against and idealise hand-picked 'right' and 'wrong' sides, and are prone resorting to double standards and distorting or flat-out fabricating facts and stories for the sole purpose of aligning their broadcasting to their strict political lines (which, incidentally, complements that of the Putin administration to a tee).
A textbook example of a propaganda machine, classic Soviet style.
This is a good counterbalance to US-UK News Agencies.
The website itself contains no malware. But the content is highly controversial.
The coverage of NS+A is very good (and more complete than in any other western media outlet) . The coverage of US policies is covered, but analog issues in Russia or the rest of the world are left unmentioned => biased here.
The coverage about Ukraine was very, very biased.
If you're tired of constant the likes of BBC, CNN and FOX feed you, Russian Today is a great alternative source to get the news from. However, keep in mind that they are state-funded network, and that means heavily pro-Russia.
Comments are pre-moderated for anonymous users, and that pre-moderation shows signs of censorship.
For example, I've tried to add a comment to this article: https://www.rt.com/sport/359215-wada-substances-williams-biles/
I pointed out, that medical conditions of sportswomen in question, their prescriptions being among drugs, normally prohibited by WADA, is widely known information. See for example https://tennishasasteroidproblem.blogspot.com/2016/06/latest-usada-testi... for a previous open discussion on the matter. I also pointed out, that Russian hackers failed to obtain any new information, and that the news were only picked up by RT for propaganda.
The comment never made it.
