***** is a safe site; they are my web host to my site. They have excellent customer services that are quick to respond to your questions if you have them and help if you need that as well. I have been within their web hosting spectrum for the past two years now, and it hasn't been easy. It still isn't easy, but it's a sense of belonging to something, or somewhere, to feel included. Anyway, they have a 4.5 reputation and are considered safe by the algorithms of WoT, and my website is 4.7. They are good people there, and I plan on going another year if the Lord is willing. I believe I started my website in August 2019. Anyway, it's safe, no problems, other than what I might mess up on my site.

As a hosting site it may be fine, but it allows it's sites to implement dangerous behaviour. Google Safe Browsing says: "Safe Browsing Diagnostic page for squarespace.com What is the current listing status for squarespace.com? Part of this site was listed for suspicious activity 4 time(s) over the past 90 days. What happened when Google visited this site? Malicious software is hosted on 3 domain(s), including streetsandyos.com/, dpphoto.ca/, ***** 1 domain(s) appear to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site, including ***** Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware? Over the past 90 days, squarespace.com appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 1 site(s) including ***** Has this site hosted malware? Yes, this site has hosted malicious software over the past 90 days. It infected 3 domain(s), including playimmortallegacy.com/, slchardcore.com/, neoathome.com/." I wont touch while YOUR pole! Trust E seals and BBB seals mean absolutely nothing regarding the sites actual security, just the attempt at security, and mean nothing regarding the safety of a site.

There are a lot of useless "this site hosts my webpage" comments that have nothing to do with browser safety. Like Ajax Google APIs and S3 Amazon AWS, the overwhelming vast majority of pages are safe but these sites nevertheless regularly host and distribute malware so caution is warranted. For example, Google Safebrowsing Diagnostic gives: "...3 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent... ...the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on ***** Malicious software includes 30 exploit(s), 24 trojan(s), 7 virus. Malicious software is hosted on 4 domain(s), including streetsandyos.com/, printingexplorer.com/, ***** 1 domain(s) appear to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site, including ***** Over the past 90 days, squarespace.com appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 1 site(s) including ***** Yes, this site has hosted malicious software over the past 90 days. It infected 3 domain(s), including playimmortallegacy.com/, slchardcore.com/, neoathome.com/." Because of this, trust should cautiously be granted on a page-by-page basis only. I generally grant temporary permission when visiting known pages and revoke temporary permission when done.

The service may be good but it does not police its customers' content. http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=squarespace.com says: Of the 15950 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 8 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2015-02-16, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on ***** Malicious software includes 21 exploit(s), 18 trojan(s), 10 virus. Malicious software is hosted on 8 domain(s), including streetsandyos.com/, printingexplorer.com/, ***** 3 domain(s) appear to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site, including a2zessays.com/, kellysauer.com/, *****

I'm a customer of Squarespace. During the recent Hurricane Sandy that saw much of lower Manhattan flooded Squarespace kept their customers online by manually carrying buckets of diesel up a staircase to the generator on the 17th floor. http://status.squarespace.com/post/34635765746/downtime-expected-due-to-sandy-tuesday-9-30am-et http://status.squarespace.com/post/34641247232/update-from-anthony-tuesday-12-47pm-et http://status.squarespace.com/post/34667013141/update-tuesday-7-39pm-et http://status.squarespace.com/post/35241499126/update-8-33pm-et As a result of these efforts all customer websites remained online and operational (mine included) without any downtime.
