Le site consumer.hughesnet.com est-il sûr ?

don't get suckered in to hughesnet it sucks i live in east TN and if the weather is not perfect it sucks even more. i would go back to dial up if we weren't sucked onto the contract. i thought it would be good for my college work and it is not again hughesnet SUCK!!!!!

HughesNet is merely an ISP. I am a customer and although I have problems with HugnesNet in a variety of areas, the site is safe. My real problem with HughesNet is their misleading advertising, especially on TV. Their representation of download speed is remarkably overstated.

Ana, I click on my WOT to find out all the varying information I can about the link, the company, the service, and the product, and to make use of the information provided by others who have had contact with the different areas of the link. I appreciate all the feedback, pro and con. It leaves me better informed to make my own decisions. I have not had contact with this company yet and clicked on my WOT for just the interactive information I found here. Thanks, Everyone!

jayl, this is what WOT was created for. To let all the people around the world share their experience about the website or something about it. I had a bad (very!) experience with them, so I warned others to be careful. And yes, I know satellite internet has a long distance to travel between the satellite and the ground. In other words, the service is just terrible. At least to me. Try it if you want, but remember to look at their rules, and be careful about the 2 year contract.

Site is safe, service is bad, had problems that lasted 3 mos before they sent someone to realign dish to another sat. Too many customers for bandwidth. Customer service (India) leaves a lot to be desired. I'm stuck with Hughesnet for now, wish a competitor would come around, I'd drop these guys in a heart beat. Like I said, site is OK, it's their service that sucks.

I'm sorry to see that Dennis has had a bad experience with the service. However, it may be that his expectations are based on faulty understanding of the nature of satellite communications. No satellite provider is any match for cable, and realistically cannot be due to the length of the rf path and its vulnerability to weather and atmospherics. But when you live in the sticks, and the choice is satellite or dial up, Hughes shines. Their service when compared to other satellite service is superior. The use of WOT to punish this provider is both ill considered and inappropriate to the nature of WOT's intended service.
