This is another in a seemingly endless chain of websites originating in the USA that seem designed to prey on confused and vulnerable people regarding medicine and medical science. What is going on over there? The site is full of misleading information, falsehoods and half-truths. They regularly insult the medical profession and even promote the most ridiculous anti-vaccination rubbish. They even recommend Homeopathy for Pete's sake! If people are believing what these people are pushing here then this is a truly dangerous website. Makes me wonder about my passion for the need for free expression in the West sometimes.
The site makes little attempt to validate the claims or vet the credibility of "authorities" and articles to which it links. Thus the thoroughly discredited anti-vaccine and vaccine->autism hysteria is mixed in with some sound and some not-so-sound nutrition and diet information. Because it tends to repeat fad and cultish claims I cannot give it a "trustworthy" rating.
To those who complain that this is opinion, you have some serious issues distinguishing fantasy from reality. Magical thinking is not science. Believe anything you want but don't expect to be rated as trustworthy in response.
If there is one thing I cannot STAND: people who rate a website based on their personal beliefs. Rate it if it's SAFE or NOT. I don't care that you don't agree with what is being said. I care if I am going to get a virus or something if I go on it or if I am going to get hijacked, scammed ($$ wise), etc! Your PERSONAL views don't count. Keep it in perspective, friends!
Tonnes of misleading misinformation about health and vaccines. If you believe the advice and opinions offered by this quack site could lead to criminal negligent death of your children, your grandparents, yourself, or the death of people in comparable categories among all the people with which you come into direct or indirect contact. Check out quackwatch.org and sciencebasedmedicine.org and search for articles on the vaccine manufactured "controversy" before you swallow any of the BS offered here.
Cannot trust a site that promotes anti-vaccine propaganda and is likewise promoting homeopathy and other unproven alternative "medicine". It's especially dangerous to make unfounded claims about vaccines being harmful. Yes, the CDC and FDA have records of adverse affects from vaccines; that is because different people can be sensitive to different things and there is no such thing as an effective medicine that is 100% risk-free for everyone. Even aspirin can cause issues for some people!
There are legitimate tolerability/safety issues associated with the influenza vaccine (and others) and the VAERS is important for identifying additional potential issues. When a real issue is uncovered (narcolepsy, intussusception, etc) the CDC, FDA, and other organizations work quickly to remove the vaccine from the market. The database is just being misused on this site to fulfill a preconceived agenda. Despite known risks with vaccines, the benefits still vastly outweigh the risks.
Just another ignorant and emotional anti-vaccine site that thinks anecdotal evidence from grieving parents trumps science again. Ignore the misinformation. Vaccine injuries are exceedingly rare, and minor compared to the morbidity and mortality from the vaccine preventable diseases.
This site is a seething cesspool of every kind of anti-science, anti-medicine quackery. No claim is too bizarre for HIN to accept it unquestioningly. The site is rife with conspiracy theories, lies and misinformation.
It is virulently anti-vaccination, repeating the same tired lies promulgated by anti-vax crazies around the web.
I've rated it as "Hate, discrimination" because it repeats the most disgusting of all anti-vaccine lies:
They say that Shaken Baby Syndrome is caused by vaccines! No, damn you, you filthy lying scum! SBS is caused by child abusers who beat, shake, and torture defenceless infants, and your obscene lies are giving an out to criminals who deserve to rot in jail for their crimes.
The site is a danger to public health and safety - avoid this site if you value your health!
There is nothing wrong with this site. Just because you don't agree with their beliefs & lifestyle suggestions doesn't mean you should give it a bad rating.
I found this website to be useful and informative. I'm not a conspiracy type of person just realisitic, but If people think large corporations such as the FDA are immune to corruption and greed, they are kidding themselves.
Do I trust everything on a site like this? No.
But I have a brain and the ability to sift through information and make my own decisions about health. I think it's good to get other points of view, as long as you don't take everything you hear as Gospel.
This website is OK... I rated it for what it's worth.
where the heck is your mind at to give this site a poor rating, unless you are being led blindly by corporate interest. It makes me wonder whether to trust your site an d your rating system, unbelivable, gee!
What just happened to my comment I made five minutes ago? And how does one become a "Platinum Member" of WOT? What exactly does that mean & does the evaluation of a "Platinum Member" carry more weight in evaluating sites than non-"Platinum Members"?
I see NOTHING on this site that overtly threatens children. The fact that this site is rated so poor makes me reconsider the trustworthiness of WOT, which up to now has been consistently good. Does WOT have some sort of referee system which can accurately adjudicate an unfair rating if the rating itself has been maliciously manipulated? Please SOMEONE inform me why this site had a "Very Poor" rating of 11 out of 100? Will the administrators of WOT contact me directly & post their findings on this board?
I see the pharma shills have been at their ratings game again!! It's up to us good folks to rate them back up!!
Great site!! No government propoganda here!!
