Some of the adware they include with the "bundled installers" create massive vulnerabilities, they are hard to remove, they can install other software without permission, and they are useless.
Hijacks developers accounts, then adds adware to the installers :

Has begun taking over "abandoned" projects and bundles them with unwanted programs.

This used to be a good site, but I'm not so sure I'd trust them now: http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/05/sourceforge-grabs-gimp-for-windows-account-wraps-installer-in-bundle-pushing-adware/
downloaded and installed FileZilla from this website 10 minutes ago and my bitdefender detected multiple threats to my computer also many other crappy softwares installed without my notice i had to uninstall them by myself and waste my time.. never download anything from this crappy website again.
downloads from sourceforge trip up comodo antivirus, which i trust a lot more than this site. STAY AWAY!!!! go to majorgeeks when you can (which doesn't trip av downloading the same supposed program)
Installed Filezilla from Sourceforge today on a client's computer and it got infected with Binkiland and Adware Generic6 malware/adware, despite the fact that all options boxes were left *unchecked* during the install process. That Sourceforge would even permit such adware garbage within their installers is beyond belief. I guess they're trying to get the same bad reputation that download(dot)com already has. I never had this problem in the past with either Sourceforge or Filezilla, but that the forum mods at Filezilla know that Sourceforge does this yet continues to do business with them is even more troubling. Neither Sourceforge nor Filezilla are safe. I'll look elsewhere for my FTP software and downloads from now on. Downloaders beware!
Sourceforge is different in that it specializes in open source software.
Open source is free- not just as in free beer- but as in freedom. Once people start experimenting with it they wont view proprietary the same way again.
Sourceforge used to be a trusted site, but in recent years now bundles adware / malware with software downloads. For more information, google "sourceforge malware" or see this reddit link: http://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1kxuul/beware_of_sourceforge_downloads_new_owner_is/
I only found out about this through painful personal experience, as a software download put the "realdeal" malware on my system.
sito molto utile per scaricare software di ogni cenere anche portatili collegato a http://portableapps.com/
Contiene anche domini pericolosi

Update. I'm lower rating to orange zone.
- Known most popular projects have opt into DevShare to earn some benefits for developers themselves, like FileZilla, Ares Galaxy, etc.
- SourceForge Installer can offers adware on Windows and Mac OSX (Not sure about Linux, but I think they will do if they can)
- SourceForge Installer has certified by IC Forge, then change to Max Force (After Download Inc.)
- Known SourceForge site has changed/moved wrapped installer hosts server to keep serving adware to users.
*because some browsers and site security detect "cdn.srcfrgfilesdeliver.com" as suspicious site and blocked to download files, now they use "d.sfquickdelivery.com" to avoid the warning and detections.
