This site is owned by a computer company called Apple Inc. It is a good site if you wanna buy an Mac,iPod,iPhone, and iPad. It even has downloads for PCs and of course Macs like Safari,iTunes, and Quicktime. This site is not harmful and is seriously safe.
Apple's site is fine. I wouldn't fail this SITE based on WOT criteria.
But I feel Apple is putting out a lot of insecure products. They just had a massive release of fixes for Safari, OS/X, and other products last month. QuickTime is a highly exploited app. I appreciate that Apple attempts to keep up with exploits, but still, it is what it is. OS/X is exploitable and Apple kind of gives its users the impression it isn't, which makes for a less secure world.
Face realiity: if the products are based on an open source web code kit and a BSD Unix variant, there are going to be exploits, just a fact of life. If users faced this fact, then we could actually make it secure. Research Charlie Miller's work on cracking Macs. It is an eye opener.
Just my opinion. The products are cool, I just wouldn't go giving them big thumbs up. And don't get me wrong, their competitors are no better. And I feel for what you get, the products, especially the computers, are ridiculously over priced.
And the company itself needs to loosen up and let people develop for them in peace. ITunes is a great example. I appreciate that Apple's stringent standards are designed to help keep apps secure, that is awesome. But why use your own proprietary compression standard instead of selling MP3s like the rest of the land? It is stuff like that, stuff like disapproving of people who build "Hackintosh" machines that makes me give them an "eh" rating.
In my opinion, they are a mainstream computing co and offer toys for the community. If they loosened up some policies and tightened up their security (and maybe not release something like the IPhone4 and then try to blame the users for its flaws) I would bump them up to greens.
I bought an iPod Touch 4 for my little nephew. he likes it very much and he downloaded some mini-game and some e-books in the app store.
Im so glad he likes this gift.
Apple is a great company but the limitations in the ipad and the lack of Flash support are annoying, restrictive and not acceptable in this day of age with a wall garden approach to the Internet, and essentially innovation and creativity
