This organization seems to be caught up in the web of "Pay to Play" scandals surrounding the Clinton Foundation. Charity Navigator, which a has a small staff so they can't say it happened without their knowing, awarded the Clinton Foundation a 4 star award - their highest. They failed to disclose the fact they received a free ($20,000 value) membership to the Clinton Foundation which they used to connect with the elite at Clinton Foundation sponsored events. As a rating organization they need to be independent (i.e. no free stuff) from the charities they are rating.
