Although it has alot of r34 (rule 34) and grimdark stuff (roughly about 20% of all content which is by default filtered out) I'd still say that it's suitable for kids as long you have control over that they are and aren't allowed to see just use caution and the well made filter system to ensure safety for you and your children.

This website is terrible. Most of the art on this website is explicit or questionable (And if not either of those two then they are unfunny forced memes, poorly drawn artwork and/or drama). Sure, you can use filters to hide or "spoiler" anything you don't want to see, but a child can easily change the filters and show explicit or gruesome (Example: very gory artwork) content, which makes this website very unsafe for children. Furthermore, the users are very rude and a lot of the time, the admins delete artwork and/or ban people for incorrect reasons and I have seem them say very rude things to some people. There are better websites out there than this one and I would definitely recommend you to stay away from this website,especially if you dislike porn,drama,unfunny forced memes, assholes and moronic admins.

i got banned after manking a simple account. and suddenly appeared a message : "YOU'RE BANNED you cannot post images , update metadata and edit your profile (or anything) until about ***** years. the reason give by The smiling pony who banned is: Yeah, your ip is [NAME OF THE IP] after liking a explicit image to deviantart, bye bye,i´m tracing your ip to get your passwords and your private information, i know , your email is [NAME OF THE MAIL] and your password is [NAME OF PASSWORD], you are doomed... sincerely ,The smiling pony..." and , my email is hacked, i lost my personal information and worse, i lost my paypal account (with $234000 USD ), so i canot visit a site. i tred report the site, but no response.. I asked my friends, and several have been the same. so be careful. also have too many explicit images and bestiality
