owners seem to think that they know more about what you want or need than you do. This is maddening to users who don't live on fb. Every time you log on your privacy settings are different and you have to learn how to safe-guard yourself again. Selections change. Who are you sharing with now. etc. God forbid you should trust what your children are putting out there since they change things so often that you don't know if the controls you put on your child's page are still active or changed. Every application you allow access to your page collects your "basic information." Anyone else using that application could have access to that info. including those that you don't wish to have it. Every bloody thing that happens on your page or your friends page ends up with an email to the provided email. Just offer things and let the user decide what they want to use. I really don't need another para: government/corporation telling me what I want or need.
One of my family members had their profile hacked by someone in Japan a few months back and I've been seeing porn pages posting on other pages walls?
All this is very odd? I hope Fb has solved these security issues because for a billion dollar site I thought there would be better security measures?
Btw Fb is still a good site :)
This site is terrible for security. I have people responded to pictures that claim I am in them and are making comments. I do not recognize any of these people and my email address is being given out as being part of this picture. This shows total lack of privacy and I do not trust this site AT ALL!
This site is nonsense for anyone who is not a teenie-bopper or who does not use for legitimate business. I keep getting comments on photos I am not in and invitations to comment from people I do not know. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. How are these people getting my address? That is why I feel they are a totally unreliable site with non-existent security.
A good social networking site. Be careful, however, when signing up for apps and such, can be spammy. Also, not all is suitable for children, just use caution.
Even though being a very popular social networking site, Facebook continuously demonstrates an unscrupulous disregard for its users concerning privacy issues; at any given moment they change the settings without informing about it, tracks its users even after they log out and long etcetera .
Has its issues, but actually its still a great site.
Just put some cluster-f thought into what content you actually put up there. WHat doesn't gets loaded up can't be stored.
More users need to be careful about adding and removing old applications. Whenever individuals accounts get hacked, a change of password doesn't really work once your account has been hijacked by a fake or malicious Facebook application.
This site destroys families and gets people addicted causing people to waste their lives and aviod responsabilities and their loved ones/families. They spy on your life as well, and so can any user you are friends with on it. AVOID!
Spys out what you do and when. Also ... You give away your personal things. They have every text you write! Even the private ones! And they sell your informations.
I just learned that advertisers are given access to life event information, like engagements for example, where they detect discussion of someone's engagement, after which the engaged person and all their friends are blasted with marriage-and-wedding related ads.
This is a particularly creepy way of violating facebook users privacy.
