I'm surprised by how many people fall victims to worms and viruses in my network, which is scary if you have too much personal information on your profile, because what's visible to them is visible to the virus they get. My only wish from facebook is that they make JPGs out of all of your personal information and not just your email address (so that it can't be read as text by spamming spider-bots), which is probably the least harmful piece of information when asking for people's phone numbers and addresses as well.
FB creators and/or administrators should not allow racist groups, comments and content on the site. It is a social utility NOT a forum for hate speech and racist groups.
good site for us adults to network and the likes but not for younger kids as there are many groups or links to less appropriate sites. use the security page to change who sees your profile and be sensible with the info you give out and you will enjoy the site.
Good for networking & making lots of friends worldwide but have to BE CAREFUL bcos never know who we will have! Entertaining too in the sense of colourful pictures/gifts & its knowledgable. It takes up a lot of people's time to check all the stuffs bcos its too slow & too many stuffs!
You can set all your privacy setting to whatever you want, from no one knowing you exist to showing everything you got.
If you find something inappropriate, report it. Facebook programmers will deal with it accordingly.
It's fun to let people know what you've been up to and allow them to keep up on your life and keep up on theirs. But you control how much goes up on the site.
Also known as "stalker net." Many folks will put far too much personal information on this site without realizing that not only can other visitors find this information and stalk you but that Facebook also sells your information to certain buyers. Use caution.
Most popular social networking site (more users than myspace as of now). Privacy is always an issue with these sites, but facebook is one of the safest out there. Privacy options allow full control of who can read your profile, see your pic, etc., but there may be some adult content out there in other people's profiles. It also spams your inbox each time someone writes on your wall, etc., but that can be disabled. Be cautious of applications, though, as they are 3rd party and often will try to sell you things.
Facebook is a good networking site but is not regulated well enough that a worried parent would be satisfied that their child wouldn't see innappropriate material. It also has a lot of adverts.
