The benefits certainly outweigh the risk in my view.

There's nothing wrong with this website itself, it is a place where developers can host open-source code. Lots of people, including myself, use this to host their code and release it to the public. The reason why it has malicious content is because it is a code hosting site; in that manner people can upload malicious code to be used in viruses. Oh, and not to mention it's owned by Google (it redirects to code.google.com; this website is used for code hosting itself).
