Although everything is stored, on Facebook servers, and there are possibility of leaked information, and if you don't set your privacy setting right, you are host to an array of possible problems.

Bedenken beim Datenschutz. Sammelt Informationen über Nichtmitglieder und Leute, die diese vielleicht kennen. In Einladungen finden sich unter den vorgeschlagenen Personen Leute, die man selbst kennt, die aber der Absender der Einladung selbst nicht gekannt haben kann. Siehe http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Was-Facebook-ueber-Nicht-Mitglieder-weiss-921350.html. Immer mehr Dienste werden mit Facebook verbunden und überall finden sich die I like Buttons. Es werden immer mehr Daten gesammelt.

I had my homepage hijacked by a Facebook application so I'm very careful about how I use it. It took me several hours to clear up the problem on my Macbook. This is in spite of having Norton Internet Security installed.

FB itself is fine, but some of the 'apps' will fill your inbox with spam. To people looking to get rid of ads: Use AdBlock for Chrome or Firefox.
