Great site! You can download portable apps designed to run off your flash drive! Flash drive speed effects speed, but it leaves no trace at all. Runs on any computer with Windows and no conventional install is needed. Excellent!

This is the website of a group that specialises in custom-making common (freeware and open source?) applications for use on computers where an installation is not an option.
I.E. you would download the required Portable application, be that Firefox or OpenOffice.org or whatever, "install" it to your pen drive, and then use the pen drive and thusly the application on ANY computer regardless of whether it has that application or whether you could do a traditional install onto it.
