Why does this site still have an excellent rating? I've rated it poor, and there are 26 people commenting on its spyware status.
It changes your search engines at the registry level, adds links via a toolbar, and disables normal error pages instead redirecting to adware/spyware pages.

Great alternative to adobe pdf printer...the toolbar could be removed during installation...so no problem no adware or something similar...GREAT SOFTWARE

One of the best PDF creating apps around. YOU DON'T GET THE TOOLBAR IF YOU UNCHECK THE TOOLBAR ON THE OFFER PAGE

PDFCreator es útil, pero al instalarlo, también instala una barra, si uno no advierte en un segundo paso, aún cuando uno elige no instalar, en el primer paso.

Good software, but during the installation it installs adware. The software is GPL licenced but don't be fooled by that.
You *can* choose not to install the adware but it is made very difficult not to (You need to disable the adware installation in at least two different places, search the web for tutorials.)

The newest versions of PDF Creator include an adware toolbar that is selected by default in the installer. To decline these changes you MUST uncheck it TWICE--once on the Yahoo! page, and again on the program features page directly after it.
You cannot uninstall the toolbar directly from your browser (in the case of Firefox, the Uninstall button is forcibly disabled). The toolbar is meant to add an Add/Remove Programs entry; if it's missing, uninstalling and reinstalling PDF Creator should make it show up, at which point you can uninstall the toolbar (PDF Creator will still work).

What used to be a fine software product went downhill and a tricky toolbar adware-malware situation developed. Something that is especially ugly for a sourceforge (open source freeware) software .
