misleading bidding tactics. One person gets a good deal, when everybody else has given up. (each bid costs $1- for some penny auctions, this adds up to thousands over actual cost of whatever's being sold.) "lukebanke" - I never said it was a scam. I said it was misleading. I never said it incurred a charge to your CC for each bid, I just said each bid cost $1. Reading comprehension ftw..

People are giving poor rating based on "assumptions." You truly can get merchandise at crazy low prices if you take the time to study and learn their system. I gave "Child Safety" an unsatisfactory" because there's no question about age during registration.

Not a scam - it may be easy to play but it's not easy to win. Do your homework and spend a couple of hours studying other people bidding on the site before you spend your money. Swoopo has so many users that they don't need to scam anyone (see ***** for the web ranking). I don't care if you participate or not but I do think you should know what you are getting yourself into before coming here and complaining that it is a scam.

No phishing problems, and very good deals if used correctly. You recognize what you're getting into when you get into it, and do your research. I've gotten really good deals on the site. Also, I've had to deal with them on a few occasions on a customer service level, and they've been a bit slow, but have always responded favorably.

Basically a shady gambling site, in which you lose your money whether or not you "win" the item, and often end up paying more than the item is worth. Investigators have found indicators the site often has not even purchased the item prior to the "auction." One wonders how much longer this can be legal.
