The website in of itself is safe, the rating system is meant for the site not the company. I have rented multiple items from Aaron's and have always had a good experience, any bad experience should be associated with your local Aaron's not the company as a whole.

There is nothing untrustworthy about the site just people putting it down because they have most likely had bad experiences with them, i have rented/bought multiple itmes from aarons including a computer and it had no tracking software on it and if yours did then i suggest contacting aarons personally and telling them the store in which you bought it.

Tracks what users do on their rented computers, and How, HOW did they end up as a Sponsor on the #55 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car?

I have been a customer of theirs since 2004. I have never had any problems with this site. I have used this site many times to see what they have to offer before going into the store for purchasing.

So there is no confusion on how web of trust is to be used I took the time to read over the terms of service and this is pulled directly from them. The WOT add-on shows you which websites you can trust for safe surfing, shopping and searching on the web. With the WOT add-on, you can see the website's reputation based on other users' experiences and carefully chosen trusted sources, such as phishing and spam blacklists. You can also rate websites yourself based on your own experiences. These terms say based on user reputations. Collecting a persons personal information before divulging prices on products could be considered phishing. You do not know where that information goes or what is done with it in that aspect I personally would be highly suspicious. This in the tech community is called social engineering and or phishing.

I agree with one reviewer that said, "The bad reviews are abuse of the WOT system the website its self is safe and virus free. If you don't like the company okay post it but don't act like visiting the site will give you malware." There is nothing wrong with the website, it will not give you malware, it is not a scam. I have been renting with them for almost 2 years, and they will not send you emails or anything, UNLESS you sign up for their emails or info. Their computers DO NOT contain software or anything that will watch you or track you. NO their site does not contain all the prices on merchandise, because it can vary from store to store. You CAN request info online, and someone will call you and discuss pricing. Some of their merchandise CAN BE rented online, and you CAN see the price and what you will pay before leasing. If you want a price you can not see online, get up, and go into your local location and talk to one of the employees in the store. If you don't want emails from Aarons, DO NOT give your email address, don't sign up for more info. If you do not like the company, leave a review else where. The WOT rating system is for the website ONLY. The website is NOT malicious, does not contain malware. It is ridiculous that WOT allows users to leave false information in it's reviews when rating a website. After today I am not so sure I trust WOT's rating system.

Tracks what users are doing on their rented PCs without ANY opt-out. Just how, HOW did they end up as a sponsor on the #55 Nascar Sprint Cup Series car? HOW!?!

Aaron's wants your personal info. without allowing you to know the price & other info about a product. This is dishonest & untrustworthy. I won't do business with them.
