Is airbnb.com Safe?

Absolutely love Airbnb! The platform makes finding unique and comfortable accommodations so easy. Every host I’ve stayed with has been welcoming, and the homes are always exactly as described—or better. Customer support is also top-notch; they quickly resolve any issues. Whether it’s a cozy cabin in the mountains or a trendy city apartment, Airbnb has become my go-to for travel. Highly recommend!

One star cause there are too many issues with Airbnb as a host. LISTING NOT APPEARING If I set certain search criteria: searching from October 1st for three three-month stays, my listing does not appear. After having contacted Airbnb multiple times, the issue is still there and they have handled the situation quite unprofessionally. HOSTING EXPERIENCES - AVAILABILITY NOT APPEARING Several guests wrote to me asking to book an experience on a certain day. Even though I have set it up on the calendar, it still didn´t show. Airbnb did not manage to fix or even understand the problem. HOSTING EXPERIENCES - NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE I have submitted an experience and it has been disapproved, could I know why? Experience number: ***** It took me two weeks to create this listing and it does not violate Airbnb policy. I have seen also similar experiences on Airbnb with good reviews. I am trying to contact Airbnb since yesterday but I just get bots or other hosts to reply, nobody from Airbnb has yet replied to me. One of the hosts told me to delete this and create another listing, but it does not make much sense to me. If I don´t know what´s the problem with this listing, the new listing will be blocked too. I have already read all the tutorials and I am an experience-host since two years. I would like to know why this new experience was declined HIGH FEES AND MISSING PAYOUTS I have always loved airbnb both as a guest or host, regardless the fact that they get about 20% of commissions and that this percentage is hidden. As a host I have the following experience: Airbnb has issued several times payouts with lower amounts than the one shown in the booking. I start to think that they do it in purpose. This is actually a fraud and makes me not trust Airbnb anymore. - POSITIVE - AIRBNB REPRESENTS THE FAIR TRADE FOR TRAVEL There are so many empty homes and rooms in the world that we would not need hotels at all and even homeless would have always a space. The speculation and the destructive business approach of hotels is in fact one of the cause of the global crisis: the most of the money goes in the pocket of few (hotel owners) and to serve just a small elite (rich people that can afford Hotels). Not to mention that Hotels are not environmental, social or cultural friendly, often tourists are 'stored' in hotels where they alienate themselves from reality in lux and superficiality. HELPING PEOPLE WITH LITTLE INCOMES AND EVEN HOMELESS Airbnb is actually preventing homelessness by giving people with low incomes the possibility to share some spaces and costs. Often airbnb fills the gaps in the institutional welfare system. SOLUTION FOR MEDIUM TERM ACCOMMODATION For those who travel few months for  business, study or other projects, Airbnb represents the best solution, offering a great platform where to get to know your host. - REMARKS - BUGS IN THE LISTINGS If I set specific filters in the search, I can't find my own listing even though I do have those options researched. I have contacted the Airbnb customer service (which was not so well prepared) and still the issue happens. I am thinking to switch to VRBO or HousingAnywhere cause this issue is preventing me from getting booked Bugs in calendar: I just have got a booking that has a date in the past (last year). UNCLEAR PAYMENTS The payments that you get via the bank are hard to recognize for which booking they are: the amount is not exactly the same like the one on the "reservation" page and there is no guest's name on the transaction's details. TOO HIGH FEES The fees are sometimes above 10%, that's too much, but I see that also that international bank transaction may cost a lot to AirBnb. NO NEGATIVE REVIEWS? There are never negative reviews, how is it possible?! Please be honest and make people choose to review: Positive/Neutral/Negative MORE FAIR PRICED SUBLETS PLEASE The market prices of sublets are much lower than the one you find on AirBnb - FEATURES REQUEST -  MORE FEATURES ON EXPERIECE´s CALENDAR (for hosts) Adding more features to the calendar, such as exporting only the booked experiences on google calendar. Making it easy to add/remove experiences. LAST MINUTE PRICES FOR EXPERIENCES (for hosts) Possibility for an experience´s host, to add a last-minute low price in order to avoid experiences with only one or two attendees, which are not enjoyable for the participants neither. EMAIL ALERT Would be nice to have automated emails alert for property matching your criteria; LONG-TERM CANCELLATION POLICY Keep in mind that if you stay long term and want to cancel the booking, you will loose at least one month of rent. CREDITS SYSTEM / PAYMENTS Please create a feature where you can choose to not get paid with money, but with credits that you can accumulate to travel yourself. Like on NightSwapping, where you DON'T NEED LEGAL PERMISSION from the institutions to rent and DON'T HAVE ISSUES WITH TAXES DECLARATION, because you are not getting paid. Maybe NightSwapping could be integrated even with their staff? COMMENTS RATING Finger up/down for comments, like on YouTube or disqus, with option to have the most helpful comment staying on the top.

Very good website that we used as family several times; but the support was a bit slow last time: My son felt of the bike, so he could not use 1 of his nights. The support of the Airbnb was slow, requesting from us official reports about the accident, which of course were not ready immediately; so we made the necessary arrangement with the home owner, who was very kind, and we shared the loss. (Airbnb is correct to ask us the evidencing documents but the documentation is not always as fast as we may expect.) Nevertheless we will continue using Airbnb which is a good website.
