As for "America's Greatest Otaku", its not as bad as people tend to make it. Already on Episode 4 and I can tell you that its improving. Even from an outsiders perspective, its pretty interesting to watch. Of course, would have been a whole lot better if Tokyopop could improve their Manga lineup instead of throwing money to things like this. Oh well, might as well enjoy it. Either way, Tokyopops's as a publisher or numbered, even with this. :p

Tokyopop has been fiscally irresponsible for some time now. They have been throwing tons of money in and there and leaving a whole ton of projects unfinished. First the "Priest" movie, than the "Van Von Hunter" film(which by the way is worse than this) and now "America's Greatest Otaku?" There is nothing wrong with being Anime, comic, or pop culture euthiast but this is a step in the wrong direction. Not only can "America's Greatest Otaku" attract haters of the pop-culture, but its a waste of money/time in the states right now, especially when the whole industry is in bad shape. Instead of reality series or Hollywood adaptions, Tokyopop needs to focus on its original role as a graphic novel publisher. They need to focus on improving their OEL lineup(Original English Language manga), license more Japanese comics, and offer digital comics. If Tokyopop continues with their ADD, expect them to go bankrupt no sooner than 2012 at most.
