Fossil fuel industry-funded astroturf site attempting to spread false information about environmental science and environmentalism in general. This site attacks legitimate environmental groups and makes unsupported, unscientific, and generally paranoid claims that moving away from fossil fuels would have disastrous consequences for modern life. Research into this site reveals that it is a product of lobbyist Rick Berman, who is one of big business' biggest hired guns. For more on Berman, visit this website: ***** Berman runs many websites, perhaps most notably the Center for Consumer Freedom. He also runs a host of other astroturf groups engaging in activities including but not limited to: -Denying the dangers of mercury in seafood -Attempting to discredit science regarding the dangers of tobacco and alcohol -Spreading misinformation about animal welfare groups (up to and including attacking them) -Downplaying the potential health risks that come with obesity (and ingredients in food items that contribute to obesity) -Claiming that minimum wage laws hurt ordinary people If you are looking for reliable information about climate science, talk to a well-respected, independent climate scientist; don't read this website (or any similar website for that matter) or take words from non-scientists or industry shills like Berman. If a website claiming to be a nonprofit doesn't disclose its donors, that's an instant red flag. The presence of illegitimate pro-business activity becomes even more obvious if industry-backed donors are listed somewhere by the website itself. All in all, don't believe everything you see on the Internet.
