Is bittorrent.com Safe?

According to ***** , Ben Edelman, privacy researcher and assistant professor at Harvard Business School, thinks torrent sites are the most dangerous places to visit, since they don't have a business model or reputation to defend. BitTorrent is one of these sites, and it is better to go onto a more trustworthy site

WOT warned me when I selected "good site" and "malware or viruses" beacuse I had good and bad things to say about the site. The site is good and that app won't hurt anything if you are smart about it, but many torrent files are pirated, and many, many can contain viruses and malware, so be careful what you download and use this app for. The only other concern is that when I scanned the exe file on virustotal.com, it 2 antiviruses had a positive virus report, however, 51 did not. Probably safe, however something about it triggered some alert.

This site allows you to download software that you can use to download and share pirated movies and music and files that contain Malware and Viruses also. If that floats your boat fine. I have no problem with that, but the software also installs a secondary program which is a bandwidth stealing program onto your computer. It doesn't uninstall when you remove the program either.The company then uses that bandwidth without you knowing about it for money making purposes. If your on a metered your really screwed. Your better off with another bit torrent program!
