This miserable bunch of scammers take your money without authority. You pay a nominal amount for a one off IQ Test, then once they have your Credit Card details, they automatically enrol you in a subscription which is impossible to cancel without cancelling your Credit Card. If you don't do this you will be hit with these subscription charges EVERY month. When notified of these charges you have fraudulently incurred, their standard response is "our company policy does not allow refunds.." So any reviews by supposed "customers" claiming to have received refunds are undoubtedly fictitious, fraudulently posted by the company itself. AVOID HAVING ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS "COMPANY" AT ALL COSTS. They will scam you in a heartbeat. It is their sole reason for being. If you are one of the many that has been scammed; they are located in Lithuania, which is part of the EU, so report them to Lithuanian Authorities, Interpol and the Government Department dealing with Internet fraud in your own country. They need to be shut down and prosecuted ASAP.

Just like everyone else here I fell victim to their sneaky and underhanded practices. Iwas charged almost $40 after what looked like a one time charge of $1.99. I went back and looked at their site again and in order to find the subscription information (or to even know how much it will be for) you have to literally search around the entire page. I would never have signed up for a subscription to this nonsense and they know. I haven't even used a single service aside from the IQ test I originally took. This is so gross and I'll be posting it everywhere. I have 4 kids and this is an especially tight time for us. I hope you're happy that you're preventing basic items for my children because you won't refund a fraudulent, sneaky purchase. I need that $40 not only for groceries, but it was the extra to try and get my daughter on a field trip. Wow. Just wow. I let my son do one fun freaking thing because it was only $2 and here we are. I don't know what else to say other than I'm crying in frustration.

They are thieves and scammers!!! Be very careful immediately after paying for the result of the first test, because they will then charge you the cost of the subscription! They will say that the initial trial was the free trial and then they will charge you for the subscription!!! Be careful to check immediately and cancel any form of subscription they create without your knowledge!!

They charged me $2 for an IQ test and through hidden T&C's they stole from me $38. Customer service is now lying about how much they'd like to help me, but since the case is open on PayPal, they can't do much. Which is bs. PayPal closed the case within minutes after I logged a dispute. Also suspicious.

Total scam. They advertise with a IQ test, for $2.50 which is all reasonable and fun. And then you are hook you up with a subscription plan of $35 a month, without your approval. This is a criminal company with totally unethical behaviour. I wrote them that I would raise hell. They promised a full refund, and have not yet received that, but we will see. I will file a complaint to Paypal, asking them if they want to company like this among their customers. It is a bloody shame, and should be stopped.

Beware of Brainety's Deceptive Practices – A Cautionary Tale I am writing this post to warn others about a devious internet company called Brainety. This company operates a website offering IQ tests. Initially, they lure users in with various enticing prompts to start the test. However, the catch comes right before revealing the results – they inform you that a payment is required to access them. Here's where it gets more manipulative. They attract users to pay by offering discounts. Once they have your credit card or payment details, they secretly enroll you in a 7-day trial followed by an expensive monthly subscription plan, costing nearly $40 a month. If you don't regularly check your credit card or PayPal subscription information, these charges can go unnoticed and keep draining your account. I discovered on November 13th that PayPal had charged me for a month's subscription. I immediately contacted PayPal for a refund. However, the process requires the seller to provide information. Absurdly, this IQ testing website provided PayPal with a fake tracking number for an item they shipped to me. Based on this, PayPal denied my refund request, assuming I had received the product. This whole ordeal took almost 30 days. I have since initiated another refund request citing dissatisfaction with the service. I am uncertain how Brainety will continue to deceive both PayPal and its consumers with their poor tactics. I urge everyone to be vigilant and avoid falling for this trap. If you come across this IQ test, I advise you to close the webpage immediately. ps: Paypal denied my second dispute request again, I am working on the 3rd run, but I am running out of ideas since Paypal this time saying the purchase is not eligible of their protection plan.

This site uses unethical business practices by charging you $2-8 USD for a IQ test and through hidden terms and services, then sets you up with a subscription based services without notifying you through email or otherwise. They do all this in the hopes of you not noticing the charges and taking most people for hundreds of dollars. They also make it difficult to cancel without adding any way to do so yourself. The only way to cancel is to contact their support only after receiving at the very least the first unauthorized charge to your account and that is if you are lucky enough to catch it immediately. A quick google will show you several people who have been scammed by this supposedly legitimate company. They also have a 1 star review on google and many other review platforms for this unethical business practice.

s a scam. I took one test and paid $8.90 for it. They immediately emailed me that they automatically renewed my subscription for a few months for $79.90, which I emailed immediately declining, but they managed to charge my card via paypal. It's a rip-off, based in Estonia, so beware of them.

BRAINETY IS A SCAM!!! IT IS A FRAUD!!! How they operate?! Step 1: The Social Media Ad It starts innocently enough—an eye-catching ad on Instagram or another social media platform, promising to reveal your IQ score after a simple test. Step 2: The IQ Test You decide to give it a try. The test seems straightforward, though it's hard to tell if it's scientifically valid. Step 3: The Certificate Fee After completing the test, you're asked to pay a fee to receive your official IQ certificate. It’s tempting, and you decide to go for it. Step 4: The Hidden Subscription Here’s the catch: by paying for the certificate, you are required to accept the Terms and Conditions. Buried within those terms is a clause about a “trial period.” After this period expires, you are automatically charged a substantial fee— $79 —on a recurring basis. (the subscription also appears small/grey colored/very very small/ under the price for the iq test certificate, why? because in that moment your experience - iq test - is finished and your brain follows only one simple thing and that is the certificate) WORSE, there is NO ADVANCE NOTICE before the charge hits your account !!!!!!!!!!! The Reality: While such schemes may operate within the bounds of the law, they often exploit people’s attention and emotional vulnerabilities. The lack of clear communication and the use of buried terms to enact recurring charges can make these schemes feel like scams, even if they are technically legal. The Lesson: Always read the Terms and Conditions before making any online payment. Be wary of hidden subscription clauses that can result in unexpected charges. Don't let the excitement of a new service or product blind you to the potential risks involved. Protect yourself—stay informed and vigilant when engaging with online services.

Absolute scam!!! As per the other 1 star reviews on this site I paid a one off £8.90 fee for an IQ test. The only correspondence I received from Brainety was a confirmation of my initial IQ test purchase and some account details to review my results. At no point did they inform me I has signed up for a free trial or a subscription. If they had I would have immediately cancelled it. A week later I was billed £79.80 via PayPal for a subscription I had not taken out. I immediately contacted PayPal to raise an unauthorised transaction dispute and Brainety to inform them of their mistake and ask for a refund. Brainety informed me they would respond through PayPal which they haven’t done. PayPal were unable to intervene as the payment had gone through and their policy is that subscriptions do not fall under buyer protection. Clearly this is a loop hole Brainety are exploiting to steal money from peoples accounts. Brainety have not replied to my other follow up emails asking for a response or resolution. Their website has no contact information regarding subscriptions. They just have a support email address to direct all enquiries. This site is clearly designed to be misleading and scam people for their details in order to take a subscription fee after initially paying for the results of a test in good faith. I see they are responding here to 1* reviews, probably in a bid to appear legitimate. Don’t be fooled. I’ll happily post a follow up review here if they refund my money and deliver a scrap of good customer service. Don’t hold your breath folks ….
