Is breastcancersociety.org Safe?

This web site belongs to the Breast Cancer Society in Mesa, AZ, USA. It is not the site for the similarly named Breast Cancer Society in Sarnia, ON, Canada. Serious questions of misconduct have been associated with this American organization's fund-raising, but not necessarily proven. See, for example, ***** Reportedly, this organization does not gladly disclose its finances, even to the Better Business Bureau. I suggest that you search the web for complaints regarding misconduct by telemarketers claiming to represent this organization. (One of them annoyed me, again, a few minutes ago. Requests to cease contacting me have not been honored.) The site's published Privacy Policy is titled "Privacy Statement (Terms of Service).' It forbids misbehavior by users, but says nothing about how the site may use anyone's personal information.

This charity does a very poor job of spending it's money on program expenses. According to the 990 form filed with the IRS in 2008 the organization had 15.6 million dollars of revenue. In the same year they 8.2 million went to fund raising expenses. The fund raising expenses are far too high for an organization of this size.
