This site is fine. I have visited and purchased from them before.

User Whitesmoke1 spammed my board as well as that of at least one other WOT-member, with a request to review whitesmoke.com. I consider this as (multiple) board-spamming, and have rated the site negative for trustworthiness.

Scrapping Website - Illegal, Stolen Trustmarks - Site Using Fake or Fraudulent Trust Marks and Seals are key indicators of a Scam Site. - Why trust a site that needs to Steal Trust Seals??? Where is the Trust coming from??? - Use these sites with caution, do not become their next victim. - Fully read the "Warnings" and "Membership Terms and Conditions" *=* Note: Major Security/Trust Seals/Icons commonly used by: BBB .org, McAfee, Thawte, TRUSTe, Trustwave, UpFront, VeriSign/Norton, and others should all have URL's linked to those Icon's. When clicked the URL should "Open" the "relevant sites Certificate or verification page"!!! If they don't, they are FAKE!!! *-* Sites that do not subscribe to the Norton VeriSign, McAfee Secure, or other Trust/Secure services try to fool consumers/visitors by placing a stolen copy of the trustmark/seal on their website in order to give the appearance of "Trust" and "Security". This practice is called “Scrapping.” *~* Why would you trust a site that needs to knowingly Steal Trust Seals? Which of course sounds nothing like how a legitimate and reputable company would do business! Illegal McAfee Secure Trustmark - Fake/Forged (site uses a JPG): hxxps://buy.whitesmoke.com/scs/images/secApps.gif https://www.mcafeesecure.com/RatingVerify?ref=www.buy.whitesmoke.com https://www.mcafeesecure.com/us/legalinfo.jsp?domain=buy.whitesmoke.com

Software works fine, firewall and antivirus don't have any problems with it. There is no browser or spyware here, what are you people getting?

bought this program in 1998 and it was a permanent purchase, not a 6 month or 1 year membership. Then last week in May, 2012 they have blocked me from using it. Everytime you open whitesmoke it connects to their office and tells them that you are using their software and will block it if they want. They are refusing to let me download anything, they want to force me to buy their newest version, they are arguing that they have never sold a permanent version, and they want me to produce the original e-mail from the purchase. So I asked how much for the new permanent version and they offered me a one six year license for $140. But no where in the contract I see the six year limit, it appears to be a permanent purchase. Then the salesperson offered me a $600 dollar version that is for life and updates with every new version, I said NO. Right now I am using a free version of Ginger called Ginger which you can check out here: *****

I have been using this product for about a month now. I work for the State of California and am constantly writing memos, reports and emails. This program makes it so much easier to do the checks for spelling, punctuation and more. I can't live without it, now that I own it. My wife is a High School English teacher, and she likes the program as well.

I have been using this software from the very beginning. It has constantly been improved upon and aids and improves my writing. The company has always been supportive and responsive. Comments have always been replied to. I agree that the offers should be more explicit but a "come-on" is an obvious ploy and not surprising. Let's not be naive!

This is a commercial site. What did you all expect? A "solidary" exchange site? C'mon lay off and wise up! What do you think the Whitesmoke site is? UNICEF?

I purchased two products from this web site and use the products I purchased every day. I would recommend the products I purchased to any and everyone.

The company itself is kind of weird, but the software is good. I'm only using the web version, but I'm very happy with it.

This is the best spelling-grammar checking software I have ever used, this site is good, there's no trojan, adware, malware included. They sell their products legally and their products are really useful for many people. I bought WhiteSmoke for one year and there's no complain about them. Good site.

Had full suite including creative, and business with the general. Update came out. Updated and lost my creative and business packages THAT I PAID FOR. I will never buy here again. (package isn't all that good anyway.)

I was able to talk with them and get a reduced price on their product. Then I had an issue with the download and they were on it immediately to help me resolve the problem. (Turned out the difficulty was in my own computer, not their problem.)The program worked as advertised but did not fit my needs (I am an author), so I asked for a refund and received it promptly with a very polite and courteous letter thanking me for giving them an opportunity to showcase their product. My experience was top notch.
