Is calpop.com Safe?

They're fine. I've hosted with them for years ... without any of the garbage. Yes, there are some unscrupulous individuals who manage to setup shop here periodically -- but it happens everywhere! They've got excellent prices, tremendous customer support, and I wouldn't hesitate to host services here. They guys who are writing the negative comments are probably spammers and malware hosters that got punted by them!!!

I find it funny that so many people are complaining about malware/spam. Ummmm....this is a hosting company!!!! They provide hosting (and especially dedicated servers) for the general public. There is a difference between a website and a hosting company! If you badmouth anyone who hosts a website that has had malware, then every hosting company would receive negative reviews. I've used them for years, and they have been excellent. My site once went down, (the server needed a reboot after some software installation, which was my fault). I called them, and they had already rebooted. Seems like the comments here are from competitors trying to badmouth them, or people with nothing better to do. For the record, I am not affiliated with them in any way, except that I am a customer. If you don't understand the difference between dedicated servers/hosting and websites, then you shouldn't be posting on here.

Almost all comments below are people mad at who they host. Calpop doesn't own what people post! Because you get a spam email from there IP range it doesn't mean its Calpop. I have been with them for about 2 years maybe longer now and they are a great host.
