CenturyLink is an unethical company that takes advantage of its customers.  Their prices are higher than the competition for problematic service.  They are still using DSL (vs. Cable or Fiber Optic) for broadband, which is an outdated and problematic technology.  When you are getting internet speeds that are 1/3 to 2/3 lower than what you are paying for they will try to upsell you instead of providing what you should be getting.  The customer service group is poorly trained and ethically challenged.  They are not upfront or forthright with necessary information and often outright lie -- DO NOT TRUST THEM.  Because of all the problems my elderly mother was having with her internet and phone service from them, I had to get involved to straighten things out.  The only solution was to switch her to Comcast, which at a lower price provides internet speeds in her area that are 10 times higher and, believe it or not, far better service than CenturyLink.

The site is OK; however, Centurylink lies aboout the rates that they charge. I've seen the service that I currently have (ADSL internet) listed for $29.xx; however, my bill is > $55 every month. The listed price does not include other items which the customer is required to purchase. Beware of this supplier as the ADSL rate that you are charged for is rarely delivered in my experience.

They do not respond to their emails, and customer service is terrible. I have a second home in Las Vegas and when I had directv hooked up they said they could give me CenturyLink phone service for only $10. a month, and that they would credit my account for 1 year the $10, making it free (except for all those wonderful government taxes and fees) it really was great deal. Besides I thought I would need a phone line for my alarm system. Well when getting the alarm installed I found out that I could get a wireless system for just a few $ more per month than the cost of the land line. At the end of the year I tried to have the # disconnected via the internet, with no luck, so I called them and the person I talked to assured me the # would be disconnected on ***** It wasn't in Sep I got a bill for $18 and change. I called and was given the run around, finally I got to talk to a supervisor who said that because I didn't know the name of the person I talked to in August I would have to pay the $18.00. I told her that their employee failed to do his job and I am not going to pay for his mistake. I will see them in small claims court!

Using their website to request a change in service or report a problem results in a message saying they "will respond to you within the next few business days. " Now THERE's some great customer service!

Don't buy century link. It's a piece of junk and is not worth the lowest price they offer. I am constantly disconnected. Save yourself the money and trouble of buying from them. For more experiences, you can look at *****

They've improved a lot. I was not happy with the customer service, nor the website initially. We had to switch from Quest because CenturyLink bought them. CenturyLink website is improving, better privacy, navigation. Also, I had two good customer service experiences recently, after a string of many awful ones.

I've had 99% great service with this company. Which is what most companies can guarantee. You'll never get 100% service from any provider. Its impossible. Way too many variables involved to receive 100% pure accurate service. I've had a few issues with connection problems here and there, but that's mostly due to people digging in wrong places and messing up their lines or cars wrecking into their equipment, etc. I rate them at a reliable company. They've even given me multiple discounts on my 6mb connection. And sometimes they pro-rate my bill when I call and complain about bad service. Which is rare that I have bad service, and I live in the country. My bill is like $40 a month for a 6mb connect. I'm not complaining.

I've had their service for a while now, and have had no trouble with it. The internet is much quicker than my last service, the price is a little lower, and there are fewer outages.

They said they would give me 7mbps service, the most I get out of it is 3mbps with it getting down below 1mbps on their website, these people are liars and the fastest I am able to download was 750k. And if that wasn’t bad enough the speed it downloads at regularly is 100k! But the customer service is horrible because what they tell you is a lie most of the time! I might as well have dial-up for the price, makes me feel like I pay too much to CenteryLink

An internet, phone and cable provider. Not really any different than other companies in the same field.
