Site is perfectly fine and does what it is intended to do. Call out the scamming companies and it does that perfectly. Anyone who calls the reviews biased is either a shady company trying to make this site look bad or just has nothing better to do honestly. Unlike the BBB this site has actual real reviews and doesn't take bribes.

Totally fake reviews made to look legitimate. Garbage.

The site lists a very skewed selection of probably mostly real reviews. So called 'Unaccredited' (non-paying) companies get mostly 1 star reviews. Even a company like Singapore Airlines, which usually gets good ratings anywhere else and which I can say by personal experience of more than 10 years deserves at least 4 stars. To collect a selection of good reviews, a company has to pay. Thus ConsumerAffairs is virtually extorting money from companies and misleading consumers and reviewers! *****

After learning a lot more about this site; I am changing what was a very positive review. They mostly collect negative reviews and companies have to pay to have the chance to correct them. This seems less like a consumer site and more like an extortion site. The news stories are useful. The reviews are skewed by their policy of paying for corrections. ***** From ***** website: As a paid service, we help companies that are accredited members collect ratings and reviews from consumers. If an accredited member disputes the accuracy of a review, depending on the outcome of the dispute, we may not include the consumer’s rating in the company’s overall average. How do you calculate star ratings? A company’s “star rating” is calculated using all ratings submitted by actual consumers. We give more weight to recent ratings, and we do not include ratings from reviews that are “spam” or fake. We do not write or create reviews, however, and we never change a rating at a company’s request.

This site intentionally with holds positive reviews for non paying businesses. This is their business model to get businesses to pay them for accredited status. It is not a place to get reliable information. Anyone should look at there terms and frequently asked questions to find this out. Before taking anything off this site as fact do the research about the site. Total scam company.

The fee that's paid guarantees a great rating. Almost every comment was great, meanwhile many other complaint sites show extremely high volume of complaints. consumeraffairs.com is the mother of scams
4
Biased reviews, not evidence based research. No valid research for foods. Questionable anecdotal comments.

DO NOT BUY A GUARDIAN WARRANTY IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING FIXED. I CANT BELIEVE WHAT I PAID AND HOW I WAS TREATED. SO NO TO GUARDIAN.

some little crappy thing keeps popping up and going back down on the bottom of the webpage - very annoying and wondering what kind of programming they are using to make it work ... malware? spyware? crapware? I don't need extra stuff to bug me while I'm trying to read a page.

This website is an excellent source for consumer news. I recommend their daily email letter for up to date news about consumer issues and product recalls. They also have a wonderful database of consumer complaints so you can find out who you are about to do business with.
