Is eftps.com Safe?

An assurance by Symantec does not solve the problem. I had a spam email message the other day where another hacked web site was pretending to be these people. Wouldn't it be a hoot if the hacked web-site (which was speedily cleaned) and this web-site which stands right out in the open with a MarkMonitor whois were BOTH bogus? The IRS needs to stop this laissez-faire approach and have only legitimized web-sites for doing collection IF that is what they are doing. At this point I honestly don't know. I do know that another one I found with DuckDuckGo had all the things pointing to the fact that it was legitimate not to the IRS but to itself. I smell a rat.
