Is filefactory.com Safe?

A formally decent download site that has been driven right into the ground by mismanagement and greed. I'm looking at YOU, Andy. Assuming they don't give you the 'Server load too high' crap to try to con you into buying a premium account, and you manage to navigate through the minefield of scam popups to actually start a download, the probability that the file will actually complete before they drop the connection is just about nonexistent. It's gotten even worse in the past couple month. So much so, that - if things don't drastically improve - I have doubts that they'll still be in business by the end of the year.

Upon downloading a file from this website for the first time, I scanned my computer immediately after and a severe rated Trojan was discovered. I tested this with more files on other PCs and Windows Smartscreen blocked it. Do not download ANY files from this website. If you have, scan your PC with anti-virus software until it is removed.

The site is FINE if you are using it correctly. To those who are downloading porn, copyrighted material, pirated material and so on, you need to know ANY file sharing site will have malware connected to those materials. However if you are using it CORRECTLY, such as downloading a free song by an amature band who put it up legitimately on the site, you will be fine. I am majoring in Information Security at a college. Learn how to use sites correctly and you won't have these problems. File sharing sites are just that, FILE SHARING! If you think you will cheat the system, chances are you will get cheated. If you are using it the way it is meant to be used, you have nothing to worry about. Educate yourselves, PLEASE.

To download one file, you have to scroll down, click a button, enter a captcha, then scroll to the bottom of another large ad page, then click the button again, wait 30 seconds, and then click the button a third time. Absolutely useless, I don't want to send my users through this agony until they can download the files I share for free.

This site is really annoying used to be ok once but now it wont allow free user downloads and just pretends it does. No matter what thery say until can actual get a free download and tried 24/7, few times wont belive them. [Dont hate lies and scams.]
