Website lies about items being in stock. "Add to Cart" instead brings up page showing completely unavailable.

After re-reviewing Newegg and Tigerdirect Frys comes out way ahead of both of them.
It has no malware(Tigerdirect(a worm on one of it's XSS)), No known security holes(Newegg(8 BSQLI holes)), it has a fraction of the trackers(both of the others) and the site isn't hopelessly messed up(Newegg(riddled with physical design flaws, broken links, broken cookies, CSS errors, designed only for IE...))- compared to the other 2.
I haven't made a purchase from the store in years and ordering from the site is unknown from my experience.
The bottom line is the notion of us all going online only isn't what it was cracked up to be.

Bad price and poor customer service is all you will receive from Fry's. In the store they treat you like dirt, over the web their practices don't insure you get what you ordered and all the shipping to correct it is on you. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I have purchased from Fry's and am on their e-mail distribution list. I have noticed twice in the last month a bait and switch type add, where they post an aggressive sale price on an item and when you go to the website it is either not there or at a much higher price. That is really annoying and I'm calling them on it.

If you visit often, you will find some of the best deals anywhere on consumer electronics. I am lucky enough to live in a city that has a Fry's, so I can order on-line and pick up at the store and save a bundle. No spam whatsoever from them.

While there are cheaper and better places in which to purchase hardware and software, this is one of the best brick and mortar stores.
