Is getresponse.com Safe?

Commercial bulkmail service advertised by unsolicited emails. A puff piece posted to LinkedIn to promote GetResponse, and very probably paid for by the business, begins "We adore email marketers who follow email marketing best practices," which clearly doesn't describe GetResponse: not only is email advertising the business sent unsolicited to addresses from purchased mailing lists, but it doesn't even meet the minimal requirements of the CAN-SPAM Act. Emails advertising GetResponse contain 'tracking beacons' hosted on the domain trakstarsme dot click, which is identified by Cisco Umbrella as a phishing threat. Reviews on MyWoT seem to be a mixture of one-star reviews from reviewers identifying them as spammers, and five-star reviews from accounts that have posted only one or two reviews each. The characteristics of the positive reviews strongly suggest an astro-turfing campaign; from the fact that GetResponse currently has a 3.7 approval rating despite all the negative reviews, this campaign must be fairly extensive.
