Is harborfreight.com Safe?

They have some good deals, but all merchandise is from China, so consumer protections are almost non-existant. Example: use of lead paint on most painted items. In most cases, important details for advertised items are eliminated, sometimes leading to possibly deliberate(?) misrepresentation of the item. Example: "mover's dolly" (item 93888/60497/61899/62399) often on sale was discovered on my store visit to be approximately 12"x18" instead of the expected 20"x32" of a standard mover's dolly, which was available at a considerably higher price; this feels like "bait & switch" to me.

I just purchased from this site for the first time and was pleased with the service, their communication, and the prices (I was able to use a 25% coupon on an already on sale item for additional saving). I was notified vie email of when the order was placed, shipped, and was given a tracing number. In the emails I was told that if I had any question, comments, or concerns to feel free to contact them by either email, a phone number given in the email, or in person at my nearest store. There were no advertisements or links to "more deals" in the emails about my order, notta one. I have surfed their site for over a year and also receive their email coupons and home mailer. In any of this time I have received ZERO spam or any other annoying unwanted communications from HF. Bottom line I would recommend.

This policy is true of all Item in the Email advertisements and the snail mail catalogs mailed to my Home! I have purchased several items from their website when I get to check out they ask for a coupon # and the advertisement never has a valid coupon number!
