Spam email for an unbranded "honor society" aims to collect your personal information and money. Be advised: your school did not initiate this. Unsolicited SPAM email from ***** (which I had never heard of before they harvested my email address)  received in violation of the US CANSPAM Act anti-spam law.  Illegal spamming activity reported to FTC (and I will be following up on this complaint and will not let it drop) and a complaint was also filed with Spamcop.  These spammers further violate the CANSPAM Act by ignoring unsubscribe requests which is a violation of the law.  As shown by the complaints filed with the BBB against HonorSociety, others have voiced similar complaints about HonorSociety violating anti-spam laws and ignoring unsubscribe requests.  A complaint has now also been filed with the BBB against these spamming scammers.  The biggest joke is that this so-called honor society has been spamming me with emails about  "my academic achievements" at A COLLEGE I NEVER ATTENDED OR EVEN HEARD ABOUT BEFORE THESE SPAMMERS HARVESTED MY EMAIL ADDRESS.  What a scam!  Tell me SCAMMING SPAMMERS at ***** how it would be possible for anyone to have high  "academic achievements" and qualified for an "honor society" membership at a college they never attended.  What a joke!

Another site where you can buy your "certificate". While the site might be safe for visiting; it's not safe for your wallet. IF you have the funds; they have the membership. Join a legitimate honor society instead where you have to have earned it. Read the warning from a Texas State University: ***** "Gene Young, Ph.D., Dean of SHSU’s Honors College, warned students to keep cautious of HonorSociety.org, which has recently been emailing students at their SHSU email address. He said it is a deceptive website that is not a member of the Association of College Honor Societies or other recognized college honor organizations."

Another prime example of a scam targetting college students. The site is not accredited in any way. ACHS warns against this scam: ***** The site has lies spread and false promises via social media, youtube and even refers to a false standing in the BBB. They are also not transparent in how much money they demand from you. Conclusion: SCAM!

This organization is not certified with Association of College Honor Societies (the overseeing institution for honor organizations), and raises a big red flag. Sure other commenter on here also talk about the website's security, but that has nothing to do with the website's legitimacy. STAY AWAY!

Certified McAfee secure site. This site tested clean and safe from malware. The site has email contact and phone support on the home page. Norton Safe Web found no issues with this site.
