Is leadstree.org Safe?

This mailing list vendor is advertised by large quantities of spam email claiming that they "regret to inform you that ***** will shut down Friday" and that they have "made all our databases available to the public on our website at a one-time fee". At the time of writing, 'leadstree.org' has been shutting down on Friday for a number of weeks, and will probably go on shutting down on Friday for the foreseeable future. Related sites, such as dynodata.co.uk, datacompany.co.za, ***** and others also use the "we have to shut down so we're selling our database off cheap" tactic, which seems to be a standard practice for mailing list vendors. It's not clear if all the sites that use this particular gimmick are run by the same business, or if it's simply a franchise operation that advises its franchisees to pretend to be selling off their lists at a bargain price in order to drive sales. To judge by the number of spamtrap addresses targeted for these "going out of business" announcements, however, the quality of the lists being sold and the address collecting practices that went into creating them must be truly terrible. Using any of their lists is probably a quick way to get your domain blacklisted.
