Is liveauctioneers.com Safe?

Within 12 hours of registering on this site (that I thought was a reputable site), I started receiving spam calls on my cell phone (a phone number is required when registering - it says it's optional but it's not if you want to participate in the numerous auctions they have from various auction houses). I've had this same phone and number for over 12 years, (sorry - just got another spam call), and I would get about 2 to 3 spam calls every six months or so. Now I get 30 to 50 per DAY. After 5 days of increasing amounts of spam calls I went back to this web site and tried to deactivate my account. Guess what? You CANT deactivate your account on this site! So I had to change (sorry - another spam call) all of my personal information including my phone number (I put in a bogus number), name and address. The calls stopped for exactly 12 hours. But now they're back with a vengeance. I went back again to this web site and guess what? They changed my phone (sorry - another spam call) number BACK to the original cell number I had put in when I first registered. HOW CAN ANY OF THIS BE LEGAL?!! On top of that - the one auction house that I did initially try to sign up for emailed me and wanted me to "fill in the blanks" with my credit card number, CV2 code, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, etc - and email it back to them with NO SECURITY IN PLACE! No way man. Are you nuts? (sorry - just got another spam call). This site SUCKS! BEWARE! You 've been warned! I have no idea how I'm going to (sorry - another bleeping spam call!!!) stop this!

I have been customer/client for over 6 years. Thousands of auctions in real time via the Internet. Great, fast site. I have never had an issue using LiveAuctioneers both as a client and buyer. SPAM may be from auction houses promoting their auctions, Live Auctioneers has an opt in, opt out newsletter and information policy.
