Is lumosity.com Safe?

They were caught lying about the possible results. Then read some of the other complaints listed here and most people won't find them trustworthy. They advertised a lot and a lot of people want to believe that there is more than there is. Not trusted.

I use this daily for 'Brain Exercise'. I began with this site in 2011 and ended in '12. Since then, they have "grown up" and surpassed my highest expectations. I'm excited to see how my brain activities rate since three years ago! I would, and do, endorse and recommend this site to friends, family and anyone else who will listen!

The claims Lumosity make are definitely questionable. See for instance this study (http://myweb.fsu.edu/vshute/pdf/portal1.pdf) which shows that Lumosity games don't improve any cognitive skills, while playing Portal 2 does. Even if Lumosity games do help a little relative to doing nothing, there's no evidence they're better than any other random games that don't have the large subscription fees that Lumosity does.

I never signed up, but was sent a Welcome email. My email address is not the kind of email address you might guess or stumble across. After numerous emails to Support they were unable to provide me with the IP address used to sign up - because although they do log all ip address, they "didnt" record it, because I was perhaps using a proxy or a mobile phone?!
