Is markmonitor.com Safe?

The "global leader in enterprise brand protection" are using old and outdated data by themselves. A very poor and cheap company. They even don't understand that the ownership of IP addresses can change with the time. Just take a look at sorbs.net. There you'll find entries, which are older than 5 years.

"it is google's registrar" (http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/markmonitor.com/comment-855562) Irrelevant. That doesn't automatically just as if by magic qualify it as legit, or trustworthy. I't happens to be the registrar of APPSPOT, not Google (Google implies Google.* or usually ***** as a naked TLD because of the arguably widespread linked general reference as such) As for the tld in question, being Appspot's registrar(http://whois.domaintools.com/appspot.com) unfortunately makes it the source of a fair amount of bad sites. Appspot, being a webapp host specifically makes it even more unfortunately the source of some MALICOUS and/or phishing sites. I'm currently investigating ***** - it lacks a WOT score and the app itself goes by the name Realinx, and is on the Chrome App Store (which by the way is not difficult to get on to - even for malicious apps)
