Is ownyourmodem.com Safe?

Modem was received quickly and installation was absolutely painless. The ARRIS Firmware screens are a little different than Xfinity but I was able to easily configure everything the way I needed to. I'm looking forward to not having to pay the lease fee ever again.

Search Google for Aaron Kocherhans and you will find a lot of negative (and unfortunately useful) information on ***** or dontleaseyourmodem.com. They sold me a used and apparently stolen modem, and somehow had it shipped to me as a gift through Amazon. Comcast said the modem was registered in someone else's name. Aaron is rude and aggressive and blames all the installation problems I had on Comcast, calling them unethical. Amazing behavior. Am surprised this guy is able to stay in business and continue to defraud people.

I bought a gateway from this site and received the wrong item. The box I received was filled with shipping label leftovers and other trash used as padding. The amount of information I could glean from this trash was scary. I sent it back (paying the postage myself). And then the waiting began. I had to wait while he figured out where my original purchase went, I had to wait for it to be shipped and the promised reimbursement of my shipping costs has yet to happen. It has been more than a month since I placed the original order. I cannot be certain that the item I received was in fact a new unit given the way it was packed, loose in a USPS box. The seller has demanded that I inform him that I received the unit and that it is in good working order before he will send me my shipping refund. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !

I second this too. Buyer on ebay beware of this ownyourcablemodem-com seller on ebay. He will lie to you, rob you and ignore you. He won't give you a refund if the item is defective and he won't even replace it for you. He might tell you to return the item and then give you the wrong address. BEWARE!!. Don't say you were not warned.

Do not buy from this place. As stated Aaron Kocherhans, Aaron ***** will Not stand behind his products and will not refund your money. The two post in this stating good service are made by him. Look at the user name. Aakoch44. Coincidence ? I think Not! Beware!

These guys were very helpful in getting my modem up and working. I had a problem with the first modem and they rushed me another one so I had no downtime and even upgraded me for the slight inconvenience. They have great feedback on Ebay and I can see why. Would certainly buy from again and have recommended many of my friends and family as it being a great option to get out of the rip off modem lease from my cable provider.

I bought a modem from this sight and they helped me to get my telephone modem and and working, which Comcast claimed to me can't be done? They helped me select the correct model and provided great tech support even though little was needed. Item was priced right, arrived in a timely manner, and will save me hundreds of dollars. I will be back again to help get me family and friends set up with their own internet modem equipment. A++++
