Is peoplesmart.com Safe?

You're required to give your name and email address, and when you click on "next" , you're taken to a page that requires you to buy the information. There's no indication that I'm going to have to give them my credit card info and pay money for the info I'm seeking – but by the time this is revealed, they've already gotten my name and email address. WOT says it's giving this site a good rating because it's rating is good on Symanrec. But on WOT's own site 26 of 30 reviews are clearly negative. Only 4 rate it "good".

I was going to use this site, since WOT rated it green. But first I looked for other comments on it: Google search for peoplesmart.com -site:peoplesmart.com Well, ***** has 10 reviews, ALL giving it 1 star on a scale of 1 - 5 and describing very similar experiences: hidden charges and refusal to refund the payments. I AIN'T a-gonna go there!

The website 'peoplesmart.com' is basically conducting a misleading operation. This business builds and sells detailed profiles of people by aggregating online and offline public data available for free and without asking their permission. The sample reports showed as example are misleading because they often doesn't offer correct, updated and trustworthy information like 'peoplesmart.com' makes to believe. It is basically selling public data without verifying them. The billing info are non existent and buried in fine print and the user unlikely will understand how much and for what his credit card will be charged from the beginning.
