Plentyoffish is a grand, massive rip-off. I'm so happy that I finally stopped using it I met my love on ***** - I wish I knew about this site before getting involved in all this Dating scam drama. It doesn't help to report a scammer on Plentyoffish since they are corrupt at every level. I've done it many times, after the girls who were madly in love with me refused to email me for free or talk on phone or contact me on facebook. Customer service answered me with a boilerplate, those scammers' profiles are still there. I hope my review helps someone to avoid all this crazy drama!

***** PLENTYOFFIS ***** Purchase Date: ***** Category: Service Providers Purchase Posted -$130.41 These guys at plentyoffish ripped me off after my calling and telling them about the credit card compromise for $130 I've never put my card info on their site and they told me themselves that high of a charge was a charge for advertising, I don't even advertise, I have plenty of traffic to my sites without ripping off someone to pay for advertising especially allowing the charge to progress without doing the right thing so far, hopefully I can update this to a better outcome truckertwotimes 1 sec ago

My profile was breached by a hacker who stole my pictures, changed all my profile info and replaced it with derogatory info, changed my email address and changed my password so I can't log in anymore. I have reported the incident and the website has been slow to do anything. Stay away from this site!

Had no problems on this site in five years. Need to use common sense when divulging personal details to prospective dates.

Too many False Profiles. Edmonton Journal: "Twitchell, convicted Tuesday of first-degree murder in the online luring death of Johnny Altinger, still faces an attempted murder charge for his alleged attack on Gilles Tetreault. Tetreault testified that he was lured off the website ***** expecting a date with a woman, only to be attacked by a man in a mask with a stun baton when he arrived at a garage rented by Twitchell. Web site will not allow members to close profiles or remove them from visibility. Falsely creates the impression that there is a large number of active users available.
5
Adult content displays on public pages, and there is no filter to prevent minors from accessing explicit material.

There was a security breach by guy named Chris Russo who found out just how vulnerable peoples private information was able to be exploited. This site isn't safe because the hacking allowed peoples passwords (used on other sites like PAYPAL) to be revealed. Good thing Chris Russo did it to inform the CEO of PlentyofFish instead of maliciously uploading it to 4chan or another questionably evil entity. Until the site becomes encrypted in strong areas ( like password reset not recovery) then i suggest nobody uses this site. Sources : ***** ***** *****

Been using this site going on 5 years and have never been hit with anything. The only thing i have found wrong here is the links that people post on there profiles can sometimes be questionable. With Markus being the only one running the site it can be impossible to get in touch with him. But in 5 yrs i have never needed to. The site is free. Why would anyone need customer support? The reason i give it a Adult content rating is because it is a adult site. Kids have no reason for being here. Also, A lot of the women and men here will post pictures with as much hanging out as they can get away with. Lots of nutty people here. But over all a good site. You can meet decent people here. But they are few and far between.

It's fun to email some people and NOT have to pay for the "right" to email, as ***** makes you PAY for that "right." POF is entertaining, enjoyable, and it is not daily SPAM. Ya sign up for update and set your preferences accordingly. If you don't. as "Monkeykidz1" did below then DUH, you will get email that YOU signed up for, that is not SPAM. Hey, I enjoy talking to new people, and it is a fun way to meet people. But always be alert and vigilant NOT to give away any personal information - this site CAN have "Romantic Scammers" too, just as MySpace, Match, and that cherry bar thing... Anyhow overall, this is a great site for adults to indulge in when they are bored, or tired of being urged to pay for this and that. There are opportunities to pay for an "Upgrade" to your services on this site; but it is a fraction of the cost as compared to other parallel sites. There are some fake profiles, and they come fast and go even faster. The real people seem to stay. But if someone is typing to you in broken English, and or w/o proper grammar, etc... Yeah, watch your back - that's a sure sign that they are a scammer. Watch your output and use your brain, just as you should understand life to be now with all of the crooks and creeps out there. Their server is not the best and sometimes you cannot even connect to the site b/c of that. Some days (like today in the AM) all I could get was HTML coding, notta for a page, etc... THAT was/is frustrating. Tonight the message is: "Plentyoffish is currently down as a result of multiple system failures and service will be restored later today." So obviously they have some bugs to work out, but so did Google, and MySpace at their infancy. Watch out on the sides for ads that look like profiles, they are sex ads or whatever, just use a code cutter to eliminate the ads if you desire. Oh, last thought here before I close. You are "have to be at least eighteen" to have an account here; but who knows if someone really is however old they say that they are, if they use different pics, and if they are 60 saying they are 55; sometimes ppl post WAY outdated photos - those are most times easy to see, fashions speak loudly LOL! Overall, it is about an eight of ten to me, ignoring the sexy ad things... Who wants that crap anyhow? Geeze, if you click it you will get what is coming to you, and that is either a virus, malware, or a blown computer - it's a no-brainer use your head and stay focused where you should be and then it isn't an issue. If you can not, then just do not GO to the site, plain and simple. Kids, and/or teens should NOT be on this site, it is too provocative with it's ads - maybe the ads will be eliminated when the site gets enough notability and then it's character will go up as far as it's ads. Peace out! ID2U

Be careful of links posted on peoples profiles. I have already reported this one person twice about links posted on her profile. These links lead to a phishing and scam site. Malicious content and viruses were found on this site. But Markus refuses to remove the link from her profile.SO BE CAREFUL OF POSTED LINKS HERE. CHECK THEM OUT CAREFULLY BEFORE GOING TO THEM.

The people who left negative comments here either have an agenda or just couldn't find love. One of the largest and best dating sites out there, have met dozens of people both romantically and on a platonic level through the site, really easy to use with some of the best features I've seen out there. Best of all, its FREE! Does need more women though, the balance is out.
