Is poetry.com Safe?

Spammers? Maybe. The email they sent has a shady redirect link that looks phishy. The site itself cons rubes who want to be poets out of money in exchange for something no one in the publishing world will take seriously. Not illegal, but totally shady.

I wrote one of my better poems and wanted to submit it online. Come to find out, after I "submitted it", the poem is on random sites and the owner of the sites claim to OWN the poem. Now I'm pissed. Don't come here. It's a site that will steal your work!!!

I have been scammed by them before, write a poem, they send you a letter offering you a book and saying that your poem was fantastic, but all they want is you to buy a blank book for $20 and write in it yourself... they really are a sad bunch of people, taking advantage of good writers.

All these people are trying to do is sell you stuff. I wish someone could delete this site and replace it with one that is actually worth going to because I am sure a lot of people think that whatever they are looking for plus dot com is supposed to bring them somewhere useful.

Ah! Yes. Vanity publishing! Legally speaking, this may not be a scam. Non-legally speaking, it sure looks like one. .............................................................................
