Go to the Consumer Affairs web site and read the hundreds of horrible things Public Storage have done to their customers. This outfit is scum. The rob and cheat their customers. Public Storage won't let me post the link to Consumer Affairs so Google it.

Our belongings have been in a large Public storage unit for almost a year. In that time, they have come up with fees and fines not contained within my contract. They've raised the cost of rental and rental insurance twice in 10 months. If I'm more than 7 days late paying my bill, they cut of the locks and replace them with theirs so I don't have access if needed. Then they charge me $17 for a lock that"must" be purchased from them. They have an entire wall of locks for sale which I interpret as this must happen to everyone on a regular basis. Let's face it...the large majority of people using Public Storage are down on their luck, maybe broke, and need a safe haven for their belongings. And Public Storage preys on people with little money. I had it out with the so called manager today and this woman, who likes being tough and compassionless, told me that since we are moving out on Sept 9, we have to pay the full month= $215. No prorating. When I asked where the list of fines, fees, and rules are in my contract, the b***h told me that the contract refers to a stipulation in Wisconsin state law that allows them to do this. Is it not right and fair to tell a new customer about these fines and charges at the time of rental? The contract is 3 pages, front and back, in tiny print. Impossible to read. How is the typical consumer going to have a clue about this unless the Public Storage manager tells them about this? They have nickel and dimed me for 10 months and I swear, I will never, ever use them again. They are a bunch of lying, deceitful, no good, sons of a b*****s!!!
