Is register.com Safe?

Terrible experience, they offer packages for $ 6 and charge $ 30 for unsolicited services. Without specifying the hidden cost you are included in monthly plans and to disable automatic renewal the road is very long, including calls to USA or Canada, with high costs if you are not in one of those countries. They do not have on their page an option to unsettle the "monthly renewal". They are a band of delinquents, it is not possible that it is so difficult to annul the services that forced me to have and that I did not request, they should go to prison all these criminals. It is discouraging for e-commerce.

This company sold me web development services and did not provide what they said they would provide.   At a much later date, when I went to transfer to a different web registry, they engaged in a series of misleading , deceptive and price-escalating tactics which resulted in me more or less being forced into re-registering with them.  For instance, when I signed in to get an authorization code, their site generated a pop-up asking me to update my phone number.  I typed in my new number, but then noticed that there was very tiny grayed-out print below.  The print said that any changes to my information would trigger a 60-day transfer lock.  There was no way to opt out of the pop-up.  So I re-entered my original number and submitted it.  They instigated the transfer lock!  It got worse from there. I would steer everyone away from this site if I could.  Go ANYWHERE else!

this company is so perniciously devious they out right lie then count on customer issuance they actually charge more for customer loyalty - over priced slow servers - deceptive representatives - be warned - do not do business with these tyrants they are employing an unsustainable business model just my opinions based on my experiences with *****

Deceptive pricing to begin with.  They tell you you can register a domain name for $5.  What they don't tell you until after payment is that you can't use that domain name without paying a monthly fee. When I found out, I stopped the process.  However, they charged me a second time without my acceptance of the continued charges.  I should have looked at the user reviews before registering the domain name.  I didn't find a single good review.

Sends endless emails advertising their services to the point I blocked anything sent from them. Started using my phone number for robotic telemarketing calls, multiple times a day. I have not had any business with them for several years, clearly with good reason.

Sometimes not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but always diligent in making an effort to keep their clients. Willing to work with you. Their email platform leaves a lot to be desired. Their do-it-yourself website templates could be updated. But, overall, they get the job done and have been my web host for three years. Affordable web hosting.
