Is segment.io Safe?

Too much and too detailed tracking. Section 5 of the TOS ( ***** ) show that Segment leaves it up to their clients to decide what and how data is tracked. But an awful lot can be tracked and we have to assume that many clients will choose to use the service to its maximum capabilities. This includes tracking user behaviour across devices and browsers. They work together with third-parties to collect from as many data points as possible. Finally: "Segment does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals or other similar mechanisms. Third parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across sites when you visit the Sites or use the Service." In my view this online tracker invades on the end user's privacy too much. Better block it.

This is an analytic with the headline of: "Install tracking for the last time. Send your data to 117 tools with the flick of a switch." I don't know why I didn't blacklist it right then and there. Maybe I was being a masochist- but I got through some of the agony of their privacy policy before pulling the plug. Usually I reserve dark red for the most horrific things like virus delivery and this one is getting it. I also marked it as viruses/malware because the 117 companies is capable of doing that much damage.
