Seti@Home ist eine echt gute Idee, die (oft) ungenutzte Rechenleistung von Computer, Laptops oder Handys der Wissenschaft zur Verfügung stellen. Ich vertrauer der Seite, da sie an wichtigen Stellen (z.B. Anmeldung) verschlüsselt übertragen wird. Zur Benutzung von Seti@Home benötigt man ein Programm ("BOINC"), das komplett werbefrei und kostenlos heruntergealden werden kann. Auch den Antivirentest von G Data hielt das Programm stand. Zur Zeit benutze ich Seti@Home selber und helfe damit (wohlmöglich) ein bisschen bei der Suche nach außerirdischer Intelligenz, indem mein Laptop die Daten auswertet.
